Hello to all my friends who do actually read this :)
It's been 6 whole weeks since I've moved away from Lake Charles & I have to say that things have been going well on my side of the country. There have been a few rocky moments (of course) throughout this whole experience... but I have to say that I am truly living and enjoying my life. It probably helps that I constantly remind myself of how blessed I am not only to be alive, but to be living my life to it's fullest. No regrets right? I wish I could sum up everything that I'm learning into one little blog, or even a few blogs... but at this point I already think that I could write a book. I look at life in a totally different perspective and I'm totally, absolutely happy.
That's really all I have to say for this entry... I know it's a really short blog... but hey, I think it's easy to see that I'm really enjoying my time living here so far. What else is there to know? ;)
Love, Court.
As the title says, I'm a small town girl who recently moved to a big city... This is the place to learn about it :)

One month down...
Today is my official one month anniversary of living in Vegas. It's so crazy how fast time flies! It's funny because I still can't believe that I actually live here.. Moving away was always something that I wanted to do, yet I always found myself scared to seriously make "the leap". As big-headed as this may sound, I'm SO proud of myself and I'm so happy that I did this.
Things have been going incredibly smooth for me & I just have to say that I'm beyond blessed! I got a job at one of the best Five-Star Casino Resorts not just in Vegas, but in the entire U.S. So far, I've already completed my orientation and I absolutely love it :) I was ready to start working somewhere because I knew it would be easier to meet people & make friends. I'm only taking classes at UNLV online, so meeting people through school wasn't much of an option. Speaking of working in Las Vegas, it's insane how much you have to do to work in a public environment! TAM card, Health card, Union Card, Sheriff's card.. I think I have every card ever invented lol.
I AM very proud to say that driving here is a lot easier for me now. :) Now don't get me wrong, I'm no master buttt, I'm MUCH better!!
To best honest, I haven't really had the chance to get homesick (thank goodness).. When I first decided to move the thought of being far away from my family, friends, and home seriously freaked me out. I thought about backing out of the move a couple of times, because I was so scared of missing home. Let's face it, not being able to just drive over to your parents or close friends house is a bit scary when you're used to having that comfort! Like I said before, thank God for technology such as Skype, Tango, etc., because it makes me feel like y'all aren't so far away :) Slowly but surely, I've made a few friends here & it's been really nice!
Overall, I'm one happy girl <-- that pretty much sums everything up!
On that note... Any of you guys/girls that have big dreams of moving away or fulfulling a goal should seriously go for it! Life is too short & precious to not live it to the fullest!!
Until next time, Court. Xoxo<3
